●  Representation to the California Medical Association (CMA), the organization

responsible for the passage, and the preservation of the protections contained in

MICRA (the Medical Injury and Compensation Act), which limits judgments for pain

and suffering. MICRA is credited with affording an estimated $60,000 savings in

liability premiums for each California physician compared to physicians in other states

that do not have this legislation. The CMA also provided leadership resulting in the

RICO class action settlements against fraudulent insurance reimbursement practices that

added an estimated $1 billion in California physician earnings.
